Recently installed 2d expansion card on ULN2 and trying to understand how to run my Pro Tools 9 session out through the MIO Console? Running Maverick OS on a new Macbook Pro with ProTools 9. Tried creating instrument track with Console Connect plug in but not seeing any of the FW input options for routing out of PT. Thank you for some help.

Here's a quick way to do stereo stems. First you'll need to make sure you've got the pro tools I/O set up correctly. Go into I/O set up and set inputs, outputs, and busses to default. This should set up 18 ins and outs and then set up the first 18 busses to also be linked to the 18 outputs. Then open the mio template that's named something like "stereo stem summing". Now whatever you route out outputs 1/2 in pro tools will be sent out FireWire 1/2 into the mio console. And outputs 3/4 will be FireWire 3/4. And so on. Now in pro tools set the tracks/buss outputs to the outputs you want to use. I normally end up with something like Drums to 3/4, bass guitar to 5/6, instruments to 7/8, lead vocals to 9/10, BGV's to 11/12, and fx to 13/14. But you can also set up mono sends and do whatever you prefer. Just tweak the pro tools I/O and mio console to do what works for you.

Then you can either record the mix into record panel. Or I usually set the direct outputs of the master buss in mio console to FireWire 3/4. Set up a track in pro tools to record inputs 3/4. Mute it before trying to record or you'll probably get a feedback loop. Then when the mix is ready record arm that track and record the mix into pro tools.
