I'm curious how to set this up.

I have an AxeFx II running into my ULN-2 via AES. The ULN-2 is slaved to the AxeFx II's clock. Now I want to send the signal from the ULN-2 out of the S/PDIF to my headphone amp. Is this possible?

ULN-2 (2D Expanded) | Fractal Audio AxeFx II | Mac 10.7.5

Yes.

Is this a legacy box or does it have the 2d card?

If it is 2d, just route to the digital output (on one of the direct outs) on the input strip for your AxeFX.
