i know it's possible, read the article online from the site but i just can't get it to work
i have a peavey pc 1600 and mio 2882. midi signal flow is ok but when i move the faders on the pc1600 the only thing changing in the mio mixer is the record enable button on my master bus fader. pc1600 is initialised and using preset 00 - volume with mute button. does anyone have any experience with these two pieces of gear?
i just want to be able to control the faders and the mute buttons in the mio mixer . nothing else
please help
thanks

Hello,
Yes,it is possible, but requires some workaround.
What I didn't manage to do is pan pot.
Channels are controlled in groups of 8,max. 4 groups. You can also move, let's say, last channel in your mio mixer to the first position in mixer, and it will be
then first of that group..so,they are not 'hard wired' so to say
All the channel's faders are responding to pitch wheel cc,so you need to transform any incoming midi message to that one...1st mio ch. is on midi ch.1,and so on to ch.8.
From there on,getting bit tricky,at least for me,because the 2nd 8ch group also uses midi ch1-8..
Mutes,solos,phase rev,...are all midi notes,all on same ch1,starting from A# below E-1(minus 1,not 1)
I could explain it exactly how I set it within digital performer, for other DAWs,I have no expiriance
It is actually quite simple, and on the other hand quite confusing.
I really wonder why metric halo didn't supply their customers with simple explanation,or even templates for different daws and control surfaces,as I could see it as big marketing plus for potentional customers, and even better, for existing ones
Feel free to write me an emai, and when the time allows,I could explain it more detailed.
Hope that helps a bit
Best regards
Pedja

I've just been trying to configure my Peavey PC1600 with MiO Console, and it's fairly straightforward.
Each MIDI fader needs to send pitchbend info, which you can set up as a string: Ex pr pr (where x is the MIDI channel)
So for example channel 3 (3rd from the left on Mio screen) would be E2 pr pr.
Then set Min to 0 and Max to 16383.
Then select Param, format: 2Byte,7Bits,lo-hi
You can actually set up the first 16 channels to be controlled by the PC 1600, although weirdly channel 9 corresponding to MIDI channel 9 doesn't respond. I think this is because the Mackie Control might use pitchbend on MIDI channel 9 as something else.
If anybody knows what, or knows how to get fader 9 working, please let us know!
Also, for mutes on the first 8 channels setup buttons to output a String: 90 1x 7F
where x is the MIDI channel again. This doesn't need to be a toggle, just a simple string.
For example, to mute and unmute channel 7, set the button string to 90 16 7F
