So...I am getting a MADI stream from a remote truck.
I get signal when I plug the connector in just half way.
Otherwise no signal.
The remote truck is national german TV., so I assume they know what they are doing.
We tried BNC too, but no luck.
The card is working with a loopback. The Truck tried a loopback and it's working on their side.
Are there different protocols? Lenses in the cable? Cable length? Too hot signal?
Any help appreciated.
They use LAWO and Riedl stuff.
This seems really odd. If you look at how the optical cables work, there is an optical fiber centered in the plastic "pin". The plastic pin aligns the fiber with the detector. The only thing that I can think of that would explain it working with the connection half-in is if ether the detector or the fiber is mis-aligned and the extra space lets the light beam spread enough that it hits the detector.
When you do the loopback, are you using the same cable?
