I have a rather aged (but still great) ULN-2 + DSP which is connected to an equally aged 2011 Mac Mini Server via FireWire. I am thinking of upgrading the computer, probably to a recent Mini or iMac, and I'm wondering about the best way to connect the interface in the absence of a FW port on the computer. My existing Mini has a thunderbolt 1 port for which I have an adaptor to connect an external FW drive, as well as a FW 800 port which connects to the ULN with an 800-400 cable. However I'm not sure about what port I would need on a modern machine and which cable/adaptor to use. My own research says that I can't use my existing adaptor with the latest thunderbolt ports but would need another adaptor in the chain to go from t'bolt 3 to 1/2 first. Will this setup work?

I don't need the cable to provide power as I use the ULN's own power supply.

Any advice appreciated.
