Hello,

I now have one of those 2021 macbook pros 16".
Previously with my older macbook I was using my uln8 with a thunderbolt 2 to ethernet adapter.
Is it now the best to get an usb c to ethernet adapter or I also heard that its even more recommended to chain the tb2 to ethernet with an thundetbolt 2 to thundetbolt 3?? (which are very expensive adapters)...

THANKS!

You just need to get the Apple TB3 -> TB2 adapter, and then you will be able to keep using the thunderbolt 2 to ethernet adapter (which is a recommended configuration).

If you don't want to do that, the best alternative is to get the Sonnet AVB adapter (but that is more expensive).

USB-C GigE should be avoided.

If you really want to get a USB adapter, get a USB-C to 2.5G Ethernet adapter as the Apple driver for that adapter is much better than the one for the 1GbE USB adapters.

But I would recommend sticking with the Apple adapter if at all possible.
