I've merged your threads, since they are essentially a double post.
First things first: if you are not seeing audio in MIO Console, there is something wrong with your installation. Please confirm that you have installed the driver, and the FireWire LED on the front panel is on. Next, Launch MIO Console, open the Console window and click the I/O Control tab. In the Box Info area in the lower right corner, you should see a serial number for your interface and a driver revision listed. If you don't see this information, it means that the computer doesn't see the interface. If you installed the driver and see the FireWire LED but can't get MIO Console to show the box info, please contact support for further help.
Once you have made sure that the computer and interface see each other:
Go to the File menu, select Open Template and hit the triangle next to ULN-8. Click the Factory Default template, read through the description so you know what the setup is, then click Open.
Launch Pro Tools and set the main outs to go to outputs 1&2. Play some audio and confirm that it's playing to the ULN-8.
Plug a mic in to Mic input 1. In MIO Console set the input type for Analog In 1 to Mic, set your gain and phantom as necessary and unmute the channel. You should hear the mic in your monitors/headphones.
Now go back to Pro Tools, create a track and set the input to input 1. You should have signal.
Try this and let us know what happens.
