Newbie help with inserts [message #85740]

I've got a 2882+DSP that I have no clue how to use. I watched the tutorial videos and my software behavior does not match what is shown in them.

Right now I've got a synthesizer plugged into analog 3+ 4. I can hear it in Logic if I set up an audio track to the correct input and engage record monitor. So far so good.

I want to insert a compressor into the MIO input channels though. I can't figure it out. The entire Mixer menu is greyed out so I can't "clear config" and start over. I loaded the basic template instead. I do not see any signal on any of the channel strips in the MIO mixer. Somehow the sound is getting into the box and into Logic though!

I clicked one of the double-headed arrows on the Inserts column. The submenu contains choices for Plugin, Send, Plugins Macros & Graph. The plugin submenu is empty.

What am I doing wrong?

Does your 2882 have a 2d card? If not, you need to see the Legacy information here.

If you have a 2d card and are having these problems, open a ticket with support.

I don't know if I have a 2D card, the box was given to me by a friend.

I added an MIO Strip in between Analog3/4 and Process 1/2. How do I route Process 1/2 into Logic?

If MIO Console is showing Process busses, you have a Legacy interface. Documentation for those products is available here, and technotes and tutorial videos are here.
