I am trying to do something which I think should be relatively simple. I have recently started running my ULN-2 direct into my power amp through the monitor output. I now use Pure Music and iTunes for music output through the ULN-2 and really like the results. Subsequently I have taken my Bryston BDA-1 DAC and my pre-amp out of my system. Now I am trying to use the ULN-2 to get the Toslink output from my Apple TV into the amplifier.

I have set up a new mixer template and changed the digital input into S/PDIF. Now I can see the Apple TV Toslink output in the I/O controls of the mixer. But I don't know how to set it up so I can get the analog output coming out of the monitor outs of the ULN-2.

Can anyone help?

Well, no-one seemed to know the answer to this and there were a couple of hundred views so I figure I'm not the only person struggling with this. I lodged a ticket with the excellent Metric Halo support and as usual they were very responsive and helpful. This works and took me five seconds:

Dear Scott,

Thanks for your email. The input strip in the MIO Mixer that would receive Toslink input would be labeled "ADAT 1/2" at the top. In the I/O Control pane, make sure that right above the Digital input meters you have that set to Toslink and not ADAT.

On the ADAT 1/2 strip, you can set the direct out to Monitor L/R, or simply route it to the Main bus which you may already have feeding the Monitor outputs.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if I can clarify anything.
