Hi,
I've been using iTunes a lot these past two days to learn some cover tunes, so I've been pausing and replaying sections of songs often. As of yesterday, I started noticing that iTunes will loose its connection to the MIO mixer and stop playing audio after just a few minutes of use. This happens at random times. The only way to fix the problem is to restart the computer. Once the computer has restarted, I can get a few more minutes of uninterrupted use. I've tried trouble shooting this on my own, but I can't seem to figure out what's going on.
For now, I'm going to try to log in as a different user on my Mac in the hope that the simpler settings and configuration of the Mac will make a difference.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Tom
El Capitan: 10.11.4
iTunes: 12.3.2.35
MIO Console: latest version
ULN/LIO firmware: 5.0.45

Hi Tom,
It turns out that you already have asked about this (back in February), and we posted an answer:
http://mhsecure.com/forum/index.php?t=msg&th=21444&g oto=86323&S=a74e64d35d348b8f835f390331937fc5#msg_86323
Now, since you are still encountering the problem, it is one of two things. Either you did not get the fix applied properly (which is possible), or you did something that cleared the setting. For example, resetting the PRAM on your computer will clear the setting.
In any case, please re-apply the workaround for the Mac OS X bug as follows:
From Applications/Utilites, launch Terminal.
In the Terminal type:
sudo nvram boot-args="dart=0"
and when it asks for your password, enter your password.
Then restart your Mac.
You can check to see if the fix is still applied by running the following command in Applications/Utilites/Terminal:
nvram -p | grep boot-args
If the setting is correct, you should see:
boot-args dart=0x0
or
boot-args dart=0
printed out.

Thanks for noticing that BJ - about the capital O instead of a zero (in the Terminal, zeros have a slash through them, and they don't here in the forum!)
I'll try the fix again right now with a real zero
By the way, just running the ULN-8 and leaving the LIO off seems to work better with iTunes.

Hi,
I just wanted to post an update regarding the El Capitan fix that bj had me apply via the Terminal. Since Sunday, when I properly applied the fix, my ULN-8 has been perfectly stable in use with iTunes and has not lost its audio connection. As I mentioned previously, I've been using iTunes extensively to play back a list of cover tunes that I'm learning. Prior to the fix, the ULN-8 would stop passing iTunes audio after just a few minutes of use, requiring a system restart to reestablish the connection. Thankfully, this is no longer the case.
Thanks again to bj for helping me to apply the fix correctly.
Regards,
Tom

I logged in to my mac with a different user account which has a lot fewer applications installed (e.g., my DAW software apps are not installed in this alternate account), but it does have the latest MIO Console software running.
