Hello,

I'm trying to use an "multiple outputs device" with my 2882 (2d) and the build-in output of my iMac.

It works... but when I restart the computer the multiple outputs device disappears !!

I have to recreate it each time...

my configuration :

iMac 2009 (core 2 duo) (old but still working !)
mac os 10.12.5
last versions and firmware from Metric Halo

thanks !

Do you mean "Aggregate Device"?

If you do, Aggregate Devices are managed by the OS; if you lose the device between reboots, it is either an OS bug, or there is some sort of permissions problem that is keeping the OS from persisting your aggregate device. You'll probably need to get in touch with Apple Support for help with this.

If it is not an "Aggregate Device", then you'll need to explain what you are talking about in more detail.

Hello,

This is another possibility in the "audio midi setup" of mac os.
When you click on the "+" to create an aggregate device, you can se this other option : "Multiple output device".

So, it is basically an aggregate device with only outputs.

Basically my answer still applies. Either MacOS has a bug, or there is a permissions problem. I think that only Apple will be able to help you with this...

I create an spdif optical output on the 2882
and sent it to the optical input of the mac

and thanks to 2 others applications ("LineIn" and "Sound Control"), I can have the sound of the 2882 on the loudspeakers of the iMac.

quite complicated... but once configured works well

my goal : always have the sound out of the 2882 and the loudspeakers of the iMac
and simply play with the volumes of each (on the keyboard) to select the desired output.

the system has to be simple, stable and... waf Wink
do you know waf ?
