My ULN-2 and ULN-8 are not recognized as audio devices when connected using USB to my 2014 Macbook Pro is runs MacOS 10.12.6.
I have tried letting both units power on fully before plugging the USB cable in and power the units on while they are plugged in, but the units do not show up in the OS sound settings as audio devices.
I have tried the above steps with MIO Console open and closed, without success.
MIO Console recognizes both units and let me update the firmware (the problem was happening before doing so too).
I connected my ULN-2 to a Windows 7 box and it identified it as an audio device but stated that it couldn't start the device in Device Manager.
I connected my ULN-2 to an old MacMini running 10.6.8 and it recognized it as an audio device.
I connected my ULN-8 to the same and it recognized it as an audio device.
I was able to play music through both boxes.
Confused, I plugged the ULN-8 into my MacBook and it recognized it as an audio device and played back music.
I managed to crash the box loading a macro, so I power cycled the box and it was no longer recognized.
I went through the four scenarios in my first paragraph, with no success.
I connected the box to the Mac Mini, it recognized it.
I disconnected from the Mac Mini, then plugged it into the Macbook Pro and it recognized it.
I played some more music, added a channel strip to the main output.
I tried the macro again, and it crashed. (I reported this issue, it's obviously unrelated).
I power cycled the box, and it didn't recognize it.
After connecting it to the Mac Mini and back, it recognized it again.
Odd stuff. Thought I'd share in case it helps.

macOS 10.12.x has a bug that the v.6.0.59 firmware is stimulating; the bug was not present in earlier versions of macOS and was fixed in macOS 10.13.x
The 6.0.59 is reporting when the HW sample rate changes, and this is what is causing the problem on 10.12.6
We are working with Apple to see if we can come to a resolution that will support reporting HW S/R and still work correctly with all versions of macOS.
In any case, we will provide a firmware update that allows USB to work with the various macOS implementations.

Windows 7 does not include a UAC2 driver. You need Win10 to use the 3d Card with windows.

Yes. 10.12.6 has a bug.

It is possible that the older OS puts it in a state that keeps it from sending the message that is triggering the 10.12.x bug.
