Hello,
As said in the title, I want to switch to windows in the next few month, and i would like to know how it will affect my work.
I already learned in other topics that there's no driver available at this moment on Windows, but we can still use it as a "dumb soundcard".
Does it mean that all i/o will be available from windows or not?
I'm currently using MIO console in two ways:
- As a final mixing console : rooting busses from my daw into mio console, in order to use dsp plugins (character, reverb, parallel compression etc) on my elements, than rooting back the overall mix into my daw.
- As a patch bay : root digital CV signals from my daw, thru the ADAT outputs, into the ADAT to CV converter of my modular synthesizer.
So correct me if i'm wrong, but I'll need my macbook to switch between all console preset i've made, and also need it to use the MIO dsp plugins?
Finals questions:
Can you estimate when the Windows driver will be available?
Is there a compatibility issue if i choose an AMD processor for the PC?
Best regards,
Jerome.

Hi Jerome,
I had the same thought. I run a 2882 3d with the 4 port ADAT card.
I want to get off Mac and on to PC, so thought I would give it a try.
1) I had to use the USB connection
2) ASIO4ALL only sent / recv audio from the first 8 I/Os
3) Adats were not responding to signals sent to channels higher than 8
There is no boot state I can get it to stay at that will remember my outboard routing setup inside the MIO. If I could do just this much and route asio4all signals to those higher buses, I would not need to lose money on selling the Halo and buying a Windows friendly device.
However the constant wait for even the release drivers for the MAC and the decade long promise (carrot) of Win drivers means I am gradually coming to terms with taking the hit and dumping MH altogether and getting on another team.
Now, I would LOVE to be proven wrong, as it would mean I get to stay on hardware I have had for over a decade, but I am not holding much hope.
If you have the means to try a test setup and getting working - I would love to hear about how you did it.
Thanks.
