Can the latest version of 3d and 5.6.11 exist on the same hard drive? I updated two of my units and kept the third on 2d until I am completely comfortable. Would like to be able to use one or the other for the time being. Is this possible on one Mac / hard drive?

Yes. You can keep both versions of the Software on your computer, and have both drivers installed. You can even run them both simultaneously.
