So I got this new 2011 IMAC 27"... The firewire port is 800 and as you know the firewire port on the 2882 is 400. So I got this Belkin cable (FW800 to FW400) from the Apple Store and it's the right cable but the sleeve on the FW400 end leaves not enough of the end piece to fit into the 2882. The hard plastic sleeve that is on the stock MH cable leaves more of the end pin exposed so I can fully plug it in.

On this cable I can only get it in slightly and it's clearly too loose. Does anybody have a link to a specific FW800 to FW400 cable that works with the 2882? Or do I have to do "surgery" to this cable with a utility knife and trim back the sleeve? I'd rather not because I don't know if it will work and it's a $29 cable that I can return...Thanks!
