You can. Click the zoom (little green button) in the title bar of the MC window, and it will switch to the the MINI Monitor controller UI. This has been in the software since we shipped the MC.

This is what the mini monitor controller looks like:

There is also a key-command to switch between the two UI's: <command><option><control>-F
