After I upgraded the driver to the v 5.4d228 I started having the following issues:
1. Problem loading the boot state (or reporting so)
2. The box had no sound and erratic level indication on some channels in the mix console and/or on the box after launching MIO Console. Had to reboot the box every time.
3. The iZotope RX3 had random clicks on playback (built-in output was ok)
All issues disappeared after I downgraded to d217. Scratch that. d217 also had issues. I upgraded to d221, so far so good.
