Submix preamp inputs into 1 converter channel - possible? [message #87787]

Hi MH'ers!
I was wondering if it was possible to submix / buss multiple microphone or line inputs into 1 channel strip (converter). Just as if you were using a console to buss 2 snare mics to 1 channel on a mixer and sending 1 track to a recording device? I wanted to ask before I went down a rabbit hole in my studio. This method would use only 1 converter per group of bussed tracks, in a bid to conserve converter inputs so I can end up with for example 12 mic inputs bussed down to 8 converter inputs. This is probably not the case as I think any submitting would have to happen in the analog domain but wanted to check if this was possible without an analog mixer in front of my ULN-8.
