Hi I need help with ULN2 on a iMac late 2011 apple maverick 10.09. MIOConsole_v.5.6.02
the problem is the Uln2 do not show up in apple preference ,sound after a PC reboot nor pc restart.

I have update to the latest MIOconsole and i have also update the ULN2 firmware.

The only way for it show up in apple's preference is by unplugging the firewire cable and replug it. Or by resetting the box via the mioconsole app.
Also the box is powered via power adaptor.
all was working fine before i updated

I thing the problem is with the new mio drivers.
when i first update to maverick with out updating the MIO driver apps, this problem was not there the box show up fine in apple preference.
but I had chippy sound play back, thats when I google and found there is a new update for maverick.
after installing the new drivers thats when this problem started. Seems something is preventing the MIO kext driver from loading at system boot.

please fix or help me.
Thanks

I also remberber a pop up tab when I was installing the driver, stating some thing about a file is not signed by apple, it said it will load the file but I should contact the maker to update with a signed file.
can't remember fully what it said, it was something along at that lines.

I found this on the avid site so it seems this quicktime thats in maverick is not good

QuickTime compatibility: One of the issues regarding Mac OSX 10.9 that Avid is investigating is an apparent incompatibility between many codecs (including Avid-specific codecs) and QuickTime X. Users have reported that QuickTime movies that use these codecs trigger a conversion process within QuickTime X. The files are converted to another format before they will play in QuickTime X.
QuickTime 7 plays the files back without needing to convert them first. Avid recommends that users continue to use QuickTime 7 for playback of QuickTime files exported from Media Composer.

Ok I may have solve one problem for the Mio not showing up in apple preference pane.
I noticed the iMac was using MobileIODriver_10_6.kext when MIODriver_5.4d221 was install

What I did was delete MobileIODriver_10_6.kext and MobileIODriver.kext manually from the extrusion folder.
maybe deleting those 2 kext force the Imac to load the latest MobileIODriver_10_9.kext on boot.

I need to know, is MobileIODriver.kext use for other stuff in maverick?
if not all is good then?

Just now need to sort out the Quicktime codec compatibility with the MIO driver.
I await your input. Thanks

You can remove MobileIODriver.kext when running on Mavericks.

We have an update that fixes the issue with the Audio device not showing up without a replug -- that should be posted tomorrow.

You could also open a support ticket and our team may be able to supply it before we post it.

The clicks seem to be a bug in Mavericks; they occur in Safari for HTML5 but not in any other browser.

We have reported this to Apple.

I tried am old m-audio 410 and it work fine with sound cloud and quicktime player. just wondering maybe you could take a look at the ULN2 driver maybe a few code write could fix this.
also i would really like if apple keyboard volume work on the ULN2.

I notice with m-audio drivers in the apple preference pane there is 2 drivers to select one gives the keyboard volume control and the other gives advance features with out out keyboard volume control.

wondering if you could do the same, a driver to select with out advance mixer features but gives keyboard volume control.
i like these Uln2 would be nice to have a simple functioning system for those of us who do not use all the advance features.
Regards

I found this free app called soundflower.
It enables the apple keyboard volume to work with the ULN2 but the draw back is it kills a lot of the great sound quality that the ULN2 outputs.
For that reason I can not use it as I need the pure ULN sound going to my monitors.
See what you can do.
