Please see the attached screenshots. One is an original 1kHz sinewave exported as a 24-bit WAV file, being played back via Quicktime into Soundflower and then into Spectrafoo. The second screenshot is an encoded version with dither added, but the "bounced" file is also just 24-bit. I'm wondering how Spectrafoo can see information below -144dBFS, even if the file is only 24-bit? It's very interesting, and I'd love to find out how this is accomplished.
