I have an old 2882+DSP which is connected to a Presonus Central Station via Toslink cable. The Presonus only has SPDIF optical input. I want to have Output 1/2 of the 2882 mirrored to the Presonus via SPDIF. So far I've been unable to get it to work. The MIO settings are:

I/O Control: DI Source - SPDIF
Output patchbay: Digital L - Mix 1, Digital R - Mix 2

The S/PDIF indicator on the front panel of the 2882 is lit, so that seems promising. The MIO Console's Digital Output meters are active on ADAT 1/2 and Digital L/R, but still no sound.

Any ideas?

(I've added screenshots on the I/O Control and Routing panels)

Is this a legacy box or a 2d box? If it is legacy, then you cannot do it -- legacy only supports ADAT output on the optical.

If it is a 2d Box, then you can set the optical output format to Toslink, and route to the first two optical outputs.

How do I tell if it's legacy or 2D?

If it has a 2d Expanded in the MH Logo dome tag on the front panel, it is 2d Expanded. If it doesn't, then it might be or it might not be.

If the digital output section of the MIO Console window has a popup menu indicator next to the ADAT label it is 2d Expanded.

If the v.5 Mixer window works for the box, it is 2d Expanded.

Worst case - you can take the sides and top off the box and look to see if it has a 2d card in it.

Ah well, guess it's legacy. Thanks for the info.
