Hi,

I have the oft-reported problem of crackling (most likely loss of clock) on audio inputs from my legacy 2882.

OS X 10.8.4, 5.4d221 drivers.

Is there anything worth trying that might fix this? I've contacted support.

cheers.

I have this too all of a sudden - I'm using a ULN-2 as a master clock.

Not *the* Stephen Bennett, who I'm seeing in concert tomorrow night?

My crackling mysteriously went away, and stayed away for an all-important gig last week. However, I have no confidence in the 2882 anymore until I hear something has been officially fixed.

It is indeed. Very Happy

Mine is still crackling - it's why I use what I use on stage now!

Regards

Have you opened a ticket about this issue?

As Jon explained in the ticket, the problem that you were referring to on the Forum was solved by driver 5.4d221

If you are on driver 5.4d221 and still encountering an issue, you should open another ticket; we will need to get more information about the details of the problem as we are not aware of any ongoing issue and are not in the process of trying to solve any issue with the driver at the present time.

Now, the thing about Mac OS X is that sometimes it stubornly caches old versions of drivers so you can be in the situation where you installed a new driver but the old driver is still running. If the driver version (as reported by MIO Console) is 5.4d221 you should not be having input crackling as described in the other thread.

Hi BJ,

I've had the 5.4d221 driver installed for quite some time (months). The version reported by the console is definitely 5.4d221. With this driver installed I have definitely had the crackling issue.

I opened a ticket (as above) but the problem is intermittent so it's hard to give you any more info.

cheers.

Well, the next time you get crackling:

1) Record it for us
2) Grab the /var/log/system.log file

and open a ticket so that you can provide us with that information, and we'll be happy to work towards resolving the issue.

Whatever is happening for you is different that what was described in that thread, because the issue described in that thread has been fixed with 5.4.d221

Best regards,
