LIO 8 how do you input SPDIF? [message #85908]

I am thinking of getting a LIO 8 to use with Ableton live software. I would like to be able to input SPDIF via RCA (I have a few devices like DAT player and AD converter that I want to use and I want to be able to put these in to the DAW via digital input. I see it says LIO only does AES. I am a little confused on the input output abilities of the LIO 8.
