I've searched the forum with the topic being "SMPTE" and only 1 message was archived so I'm posting here to the forum...

I'm sending a SMPTE output from a recent Protools Recording I made into the ULN8 SMPTE INPUT TRS Jack but I'm not seeing any signal when I create a new mixer strip. My Input is "SMPTE" from the dropdown input box in my mixer and I routed the channel output to main and record enabled my channel with a FW03 via a driect output but I never see any signal coming into the unit and when I record obviously nothing is printed or recorded.

When I unplug my SMPTE feed from the back of unit and plug it directly into the front panel DI input it arrives blaring as SMPTE always does.
I can also get the recorded SMPTE signal into the ULN8 via a digital input with no problems but this chews up one of my 16 input channels and I want to use it for a mic feed instead.

I'm basically coming out of a ProTools session via a Lynx Aurora 16 (8 analog via DB25 and also 8 digital via DB25) and coming into my ULN8 with stereo stems.

Does anyone have any help for me on this topic of inputting an already recorded SMPTE track into the ULN8 (via the SMPTE input trs jack on the back of the unit) and have it show up as a 'hot signal' ?? Is anyone using the SMPTE I/O on the back of the ULN8 successfully and if so how are you routing it into the unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've reached the point of frustration. The manual doesn't really discuss this SMPTE area of the back of the unit and I've already set the preferences in the record panel to accept LTC from back of the unit.

Thanks in advance for any tips, suggestions and/or routing advice to pull this off.
