Hello I have read that interfaces with firewire can be damaged if they are plugged in while the computer is on. Or pulling the cable out with the computer still on ( focusrite saffire warning label). I am curious what to pull first after shutting my computer off. Do I pull out the firewire cable first after the computer is off, or should I pull out the XLR power supply cable. This may be an OCD question, but I just want to protect/take the utmost care of my ULN2-with DPS and Jensens. Thank you for your time.

It doesn't really matter. Powering both ends down before connecting/disconnecting the Firewire is probably marginally safer (actually, probably unplugging one from wall power is the safest). The source of any potential issues is a ground fault. Disconnecting one or the other from wall power resolves that. But since the MIO can be connected to other gear that may be still connected to ground, if you want to be absolutely safe, you would disconnect the computer from wall power.
That all being said, if you are in the USA, you don't really need to worry about this. Firewire was designed for hot[-plugging. Failures seem to be constrained to really pathological power grounding issues.
