Hey guys,
I have a ULN8. Can a UA Apollo, or similar interface with SPDIF, be used as a standalone A/D & Preamp for adding inputs to the ULN8 for tracking drums? The Apollo doesn't have AES. Is this possible with a SPDIF to AES adapter? Any information on connecting a SPDIF device in this manner (to expand inputs) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony

I just realized it might be a better idea to use adat from the Apollo for more channels. Would a ADAT to AES adapter work?
Yes. But they tend to be significantly more expensive than the SPDIF/AES adapters.
