Hi all,

I bought a LIO 8 and now old like to get the connectors I will need.

In a perfect world is like to have 4 spdif, 2 AES and 2 optical on the digital side. 8 instrument TS or TRS and 2 XLR. Not sure how to achieve this the best way. Seems like spdif is not supported and have no idea about optical. I think the analog input side is pretty simple just mostly wondering about digital input options. Most of the gear I would want to use would have spdif RCA connectors and I would also like the option of at least 1 optical toslink input.

Thanks for your help!

Are you talking about 2d or 3d?

If you are talking about 3d (or upgrade the unit to 3d), then you could get a 2x SPDIF • 2x ADAT EdgeCard, which would give you 4 channels of SPDIF I/O and two ADAT I/O ports (16 channels total in each direction). The LIO-8 already has 8 channels of AES (you just need the DB-25 to AES cable). The LIO-8 has 8 channels of Analog input. It seems like you want 10 channels of analog input. If that is the case, you would need to either attach a 2 channel A/D to one of the digital inputs, or get another MIO to add those capabilities. For example, a good choice might be to get a ULN-2/3d to add 2 more channels of analog input (Mic/Line/Instrument) with TRS/XLR connectors. With 3d the units can be connected and appear as one device on your computer...
