Hello,

I wanted to do the 2d 3d upgrade since a long time but you know you're always busy and running after time...

But today a special occasion might push me to do it Smile

The French electricity came without telling when I wasn't here me to change my electric meter, and as a result when I came back the 9v alim input of my 2882 was broken Mad

It still works with the firewire alimentation, so I think only the alimentation stage of the soundcards that's broken (everythings else seems to work nicely, except of course the High Power Mode).

So my question is :

By doing an 3d upgrade, would it fix in the same time that alimentation problem ?
I've seen that the 3d upgrade includes a brand new base board...

I'm sorry; I am not 100% sure what is not working from your post. Are you saying that the power input from the external supply does not work, but it will power from Firewire? If that's the case, it may simply be that you need a new external power supply. That being said, if there is any problem on the master board, then - yes - upgrading to 3d does fully replace the master board. I would recommend ordering a new external power supply in any case.

Hello BJ and thanks for your answer.

I'm talking about the 9V input - I tested the external power supply with a volt meter and it outputs 18V.

Is it normal ? I use the one supplied with the 2882.

Yes - 18v is normal. Does the LED on the external supply turn off when you plug it into the 2882?

The LED doesn't turn OFF, but shines less when plugged to the 2882.

Hello !

I tried with another supply, and it works !

I wasn't suspecting the original supply as it had 18V on the output... but in the end it seems to be the broken part.
