Hi all. Jon says this should work, but I'd like to see if there's any real world use out there.

I'm using a 6 core 2010 5.1 MP With Mojave, a 2d ul-n and 2882.

I'm going to get the 3D cards as I know I'll need to upgrade the Mac at some point.

So, anyone using this old tech with 3D?

Does the new software work ok on Mojave? Any issues?

What CAT cables are you using?

I'd be grateful for some experiences/advice. Otherwise I'll keep them 2d until I upgrade.

Yes - there are a number of users using the MP 5,1 (it is one of our test systems here). There are a number of people on the beta team that are on that machine as well, so it gets plenty of testing. It works well.

The software works well on Mojave and Catalina (basically everything from 10.8.5 onward).

Cat5e or better is recommended. You need to ensure that they are at least Cat 5 (all 8 conductors, as MHLink requires a Gigabit connection).

Just wanted to post here that everything is running nicely apart from some (workable and reported) bugs that may or may not be 5.1 related).
)
I'm using CAT6e cable, no router.

I also managed to boot the 5.1 into Catalina and run MIO and 3d and it all seemed pretty stable.
