It is weird it just stays on as long as there is power. Is this normal. I don't recall this being the case in the past.

I can think of three possibilities:

1) Only the XLR power port is switched; if you plug the power into the 2.1mm coaxial power port then the front panel power switch is defeated.
2) There is a jumper on the power supply board. If you have installed the jumper, it bypasses the power switch
3) The switch has failed and needs to be replaced (its possible, but I am not aware of this having happened for any unit in the past).

Check possibilities 1+2. If it isn't one of them, then get in touch with support to get a replacement switch.
