Hi all,

I'm a long time DP user and I exclusively use it to record music in the studio with bands.
I'm a big fan of the Session concept but I didn't feel like using it in a studio session because I am so used to DP workflow.

Lately I had the chance to record a few small ensemble live concerts and I thought it would be a great way to use Session.
I made a few test recordings at home and confidently recorded the concerts in one pass.
I then exported the recorded tracks to DP where I proceeded to mix them.

It seemed such a smooth workflow that now I want to try and use Session to record bands in the studio but I'm having a hard time understanding its use in a more conventional studio setting.

How do you setup your environment?

Do you use a different Session for each song?

I'm assuming the Record Folder is the main project one, the one I may name as "band-recordname"
Then I name the song in the "song/scene" panel in the session view, right?
At this point every record pass that I do gets an incremental take number.
What if the band wants to listen to "take 3" after we recorded "take 5"?
Is there a quick way to switch takes?
I tried to "import take folder..." under the Session menu but Session creates new strips (in grey) for the imported tracks and this makes it hard to listen to the take using the same inserts that were used during recording..
Am I missing something? Is there a simpler way to swap takes so that the tracks are consistent with their originating strips?

Thanks!
