SAFETY HARBOR, FL - Metric Halo patriarch and Vice President, Stu Buchalter, talks about MBSI - the latest release by Metric Halo and Make Believe Studios.

Hi!  This is Stu – the Grand Old Man at Metric Halo.

I’ve been around since before Tape Machines, FM radio, transistors, LP records, stereo, digital, spectrum analyzers and all the other stuff we take for granted in the audio world today.

The new stuff is awesome and allows you to accomplish things that would have been previously impossible or take an inordinate amount of time and effort to achieve. That being said, there are techniques and equipment used in the past, that were quite wonderful in what they were able to produce - music and sound that the world still listens to and reveres to this day.

Metric Halo and Make Believe Studios have set out to find those treasures that are out in the world and resurrect their souls and bring them back to life for use in your DAW - and add modern recording and automation abilities that did not exist in their day (just because we can).

Since we started on our odyssey, we have lovingly recreated the following historical gems to world-wide acclaim, especially from those who actually used the original gear to create massive hits:

  • Sontec MES-432 D9D
  • MB MixHead

And now, we have created MBSI - based on Bill Szymczyk’s favorite console - the custom MCI console hand-built for Studio C of Criteria Recording Studios Miami, FL.

MBSI is becoming the go-to channel strip for engineers & producers who want to get the classic 70's vibe “just right” the first time.

The time saved and the quality obtained is a win-win money making bonus for Pros and a huge step-up in quality for everybody.

We have had the MBSI on sale at the introductory price of $99.00 which was set to end on August 20, 2024 but in celebration of Bill and Michael Szymczyk commencing the mix of the first album from Meredith Parks (featuring Joe Walsh, Willie Weeks, Kenny Passarelli, and Jay Ferguson) using MBSI, we are extending the introductory sale until September 10, 2024.

You can learn more about MBSI and get a free 30-day demo here.

Best regards,

Stu Buchalter
